Dr Charu Jain is currently the Sustainability Lead -Asia Pacific, Products in TUV Rheinland.
She is a Sustainability leader with deep insights into circularity, traceability, and sustainable
manufacturing across various business sectors and value chains.
In her career span of 25 years, she has served various leadership positions with dynamic
organisations such as Burberry, DyStar, Gap Inc, and C&A Foundation to implement
sustainability practises and has well-rounded experience across the breadth of Product
Manufacturing from design, raw materials, standards and certifications, supply chain
sustainability, to corporate sustainability, EU policy advocacy and multi-stakeholder collaborations
for Textile, Fashion, Chemicals and related industries.
A Sustainability postgraduate from Harvard University and a PhD in Sustainable Textiles, she
was awarded the ‘Global Sustainability Leadership Award” in 2013 by the CSR World Congress.
She has served on the Advisory Board of various organizations such as Textile Exchange, and
ZDHC, and played an instrumental role in developing sustainability frameworks for the textile and
chemical industry.
She has also authored two books on “Simplifying Corporate Sustainability” in 2016 and
Integrating Corporate Sustainability in 2019 to simplify Sustainable Development and Corporate
Sustainability concepts and principles for corporate organisations.
