Kapil Pathare

Business Leader, Author & Mentor

Kapil Pathare is a successful businessman turned author who has seamlessly combined his
corporate acumen with his passion for cricket and sports. Currently serving as the Deputy
Managing Director of VIP Clothing Ltd., Kapil has been an integral part of the Group for
over two decades. Having joined the company at the young age of 21, he has dedicated 23
years to shaping its growth and strengthening its legacy as one of India’s most trusted
innerwear brands.

A dynamic leader, he has been on the Board since 2002 and continues to drive operational
excellence, manufacturing efficiency, and customer-focused strategies. His global vision and
emphasis on quality and service have significantly transformed the company’s processes and
market positioning. Beyond VIP Clothing Ltd., he also serves on the Boards of Maxwell
Entertainment, Shogun Chemicals, Maxwell Capital Management, Maxwell Health &
Hygiene, and Maxwell Venture.

Alongside his corporate journey, Kapil has carved a niche as an accomplished author. His
debut book, Cricket to Corporate, explored the leadership and teamwork lessons businesses
can learn from cricket. His second book, A Tall Order, profiled the leadership traits of India’s
top 10 cricketing icons. His most recent release, Maiden Innings, shines the spotlight on
women’s cricket — chronicling its rise, challenges, and triumphs while inspiring the next
generation of female cricketers.

Beyond business and writing, Kapil is deeply committed to mentorship and sports
development. He serves on the Governing Body and as a Mentor of the Sports
Committee at B.K. Birla College of Arts, Science & Commerce, where he regularly
inspires students through guest lectures on management, leadership, and career growth. A
true sports enthusiast, he is also associated with the Recreation Gymnasium in Kalyan,
encouraging and supporting aspiring weightlifters and bodybuilders in their journey to
achieve excellence.

An alumnus of Mumbai University, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA.
Kapil continues to inspire through boardrooms, books, classrooms, and sports arenas —
embodying the spirit of leadership, resilience, and passion.
